Children are always learning. They soak up the world in a way we adults barely remember. They grow in school, at play and on the Web. So, you’ll want them to visit some positive sites.
I’m not talking about sites that simply preach good values. That’s boring. You’ll induce more complaining than learning. Give them something fun to do. They’ll learn without even knowing it.
FreeRice – At this site, kids can exercise their brains and help others. They’ll take quizzes on topics like math, English, chemistry and more. For each correct answer, the site donates rice to the U.N. World Food Program. They can directly fight hunger around the world.
Tikatok – Do you have a budding writer in the family? This site lets kids write and share their own books. They can write imaginative stories and illustrate the pages. They can overcome writer’s block with suggested topics and beginnings. Parents can purchase hard and soft cover versions of their kids’ books.
YourCause.com – This site makes promoting their favorite charities simple. They can raise awareness and funds through blogs, social networks and more. They can also set and track goals for their own volunteering. They’ll find thousands of reputable charities to choose from.
