I have a 4g ipod that I have snyc on another computer with music. But I want to use this ipod just for podcasts. So do I just delete the
itunes from the desktop and plug the ipod into my laptop and it will
automatically sync with that???

Thank you

No need to delete the program or media files from the originally synced computer. Simply connect the iPod to the second computer and let it wipe the device and sync it to its installation of iTunes (needs to be installed on the computer before connecting the iPod). From that point on, the iPod is no longer synced to the first computer, only the second.

Now, you're ready to use that installation of iTunes to subscribe to all your preferred podcasts. Be sure to go into the settings and set it to download all available episodes, not just the last one. You can also configure how you want it to retain past episodes. Finally, either leave iTunes configured to automatically sync all podcasts, or create a new playlist that only contains the podcasts you want and sync the iPod to that specific playlist. Either way, all your podcasts should sync up when you connect the iPod. However, I personally prefer to sync everything manually when using an iPod to avoid common errors and adjust my equalizer and playback settings for each episode. The point is, you should go through all the settings in your iTunes application as well as those of your particular iPod device.
