I'm new to this forum and Kim's Club and have enjoyed what I've seen so far.
I am considering dropping my cable and using the internet to provide programming for my 2 HDTV sets. I can think of several challenges I will encounter.
I am planning to upgrade my router to a linksys "N" along with "N" cards in both my computers. I also have RoadRunner testing at 10-12 mbps.
Would I need an HDTV card in both computers? We do have local HDTV channels for the major networks and Fox but would I need these cards for anything else? This will be an ongoing project so I will have more questions.
Thanks in advance for any responses you have,
Mike

Welcome to the Message Board, mikebenko!
You would need an ATSC tuner for each different broadcast station you would wish to either record or display from that computer. For example, you wish to record NCIS while watching a live broadcast of, say, Dancing With The Stars, or some other program broadcasting at the same time period, while the kids want to watch iCarly off the Internet. You would need to have 2 ATSC tuners to tune to the different stations, which could be on the same card, or on a different computer, with the kid's computer recording the second broadcast. A lot of this will have to be determined by the capabilities of the particular tuner card(s) you get for your computer(s).

Thanks CW for the info. This will be a transitioning project. I'm really tired of no competition within the cable companies. It kinda reminds me of the obscene cell phone charges in the 90's.
Thanks again for your response
