| I have a desk PC running XP and a laptop running Vista 64 bit Home Premium. If I buy a new PC in the near future that comes with Windows 7, will I be able to put Windows 7 on my laptop from the PC, or will I have to buy a separate set of software for the laptop? I'm assuming there will be CD's, or it will have me make CD's for future use if something goes wrong with the PC. This question doesn't come out very clearly, but bottom line is I'm trying to save money! Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank You. |

No, a single version license for Windows 7 is only allowed on a single computer. Xhi The Computer Whisperer Never start vast projects with half-vast ideas |

There are 'Family Packs' of 3 licenses of Windows 7 Home Premium upgrades at about $150 from Microsoft, Amazon and others, but that is the only price break I know of at this time other than the site licenses and the academic licensing if you have a .edu e-mail address.
I know, the Beta and RC versions allowed you to use one activation for up to 3 PCs, but when it comes to the RTM version, Microsoft wants their full cut.
