WestStar Multimedia Entertainment., home of The Kim Komando Show, is on the hunt for a talented Growth Marketing Manager to join our high-performing team. The Current—our daily tech newsletter with over 550,000 subscribers—is growing fast, with substantial investments in advertising, resources, and strategy to accelerate its reach even further.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on our marketing and newsletter operations, collaborating with our core team to develop products, strategies, and processes that align with our ambitious growth goals. What You’ll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute our newsletter growth strategy to drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention. Oversee newsletter metrics, assess performance, and use data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
- Revenue Growth: Collaborate with the sales team to optimize monetization strategies, including ad placements, sponsorships, and affiliate campaigns.
- Operations Management: Handle subscriber list health, deliverability optimization, automated campaigns, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless newsletter delivery.
- Creative Promotion: Identify innovative, out-of-the-box marketing strategies to expand our audience and strengthen our brand.
What We’re Looking For
- A strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
- A data-driven professional who can interpret analytics and turn insights into measurable outcomes.
- A creative marketer with a knack for spotting opportunities to promote and grow the newsletter through nontraditional channels.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Newsletter Monetization: Drive ad revenue through effective placement strategies and partnerships.
- Email Campaigns: Build and optimize automated workflows (e.g., win-back and re-engagement campaigns) to enhance the subscriber lifecycle.
- Audience Growth: Develop content marketing, SEO, social media, and paid advertising strategies to attract and retain readers.
- Compliance Oversight: Maintain GDPR and CAN-SPAM compliance while protecting email deliverability and brand reputation. Run experiments across platforms to optimize content and conversion strategies.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify and nurture collaborations with influencers and industry leaders to expand reach. Help plan and allocate resources for newsletter-related expenses, including tools, software, and paid promotions.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in growth marketing, newsletter management, or digital marketing.Proven success in developing and executing growth strategies with measurable outcomes.
- Strong skills in email marketing, content marketing, SEO, social media, and paid advertising. A passion for digital marketing, newsletters, and building lasting connections with audiences.
