Amazon will close your account if you do this one thing

Amazon is a juggernaut in the world of online retailers. The company says it has over 300 million customers around the world. That’s incredible! It’s probably the first website you think of when you’re looking to buy something online. That’s because you can find pretty much anything to purchase that comes to mind on the site, within reason of course. The free two-day or faster shipping that’s included with your Prime membership is also a big draw. There are many reasons to be a fan of Amazon. But imagine if you tried to log on one day only to find out that your account was closed, permanently. That’s actually happening to customers right now and you won’t believe why.
You’re banned! Wait…what?
According to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon is banning customers from using its site because they have returned too many items. You heard me right, returning too many items. The kicker is, some of the banned customers say Amazon didn’t even give them an explanation as to why their account was closed. They had to reach out to the company to find out what was going on.One example is Nir Nissim. He said he recently received an email from Amazon letting him know his account had been closed. The email claimed that Nissim had violated the company’s conditions of use agreement. It also said that he cannot open a new account or use another to purchase items from its site. After a couple weeks of trying to find out what happened, Nissim said a customer service rep told him his account was closed due to his return activity. Nissim claims that he’d only returned one item this year and four items last year. He ended up sending a message to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and received the following message from an employee responding on behalf of Mr. Bezos:”We want everyone to be able to use Amazon, but there are rare occasions where someone abuses our service over an extended period of time,” an Amazon spokesman said. “We never take these decisions lightly, but with over 300 million customers around the world, we take action when appropriate to protect the experience for all our customers.”Nissim isn’t the only person claiming this has happened. Dozens of people have complained on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms saying it also happened to them.I reached out to an Amazon rep myself and asked what Amazon’s policy is on too many returns. The agent assured me it doesn’t have a policy like this and you don’t have to worry about having your account closed just for returning items. He added if customers are being banned, it’s most likely because they have other issues going on with their accounts.I’d love to know if you or someone you know has had this happen.
