Remember the days when the only way to capture a moment was with cameras? To get your pictures, you had to make a trip down to your local photo developing center, or develop them yourself. But, in the end, you had a physical photograph that you could show off in a scrapbook or family album. That was great unless something happened that caused the photos to be lost in a fire, flood or another type of disaster. While we’re still fans of photos you can frame and display, you know what they say: “Never put all of your eggs in one basket.”Today’s smartphones, both Apple and Android, have some pretty fantastic cameras already built-in. This allows us to take more fantastic photos than ever before. The problem is, you don’t want your gadget to run out of memory from all the pictures that you’ve taken over the years. Believe me, this is easy to do. One way to avoid this problem is to transfer the pictures that you want to keep from your phone to your PC. But this can be difficult and time-consuming.That’s why you need to know about this easy way to transfer photos from your phone to your PC.
New app to make transferring photos easier
I’m talking about an app from Microsoft that is in the works. It’s a Photos Companion app that works for both iOS and Android designed to make it easier to transfer photos from your phone to your Windows 10 PC.The app was recently discovered by a blogger who posted the following image.

The exciting new feature in this app is it uses Wi-Fi to wirelessly transfer pictures and videos from your phone to a PC that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network. It’s expected to be a companion of the Windows 10 Photos app and available for free on both iOS and Android. The blogger who discovered the app also said it comes with upgrades for Story Remix in the Windows 10 Photos app. This includes premium content like music, special effects, themes and more. This new app is Microsoft’s latest attempt at bringing in more iOS and Android users. There’s no word on when the app will be available, but it’s great news for users looking for an easy way to free up some space on their smartphone by transferring pictures and videos to their PC.Keep checking in with Komando.com and we’ll keep you posted on any updates for the app and all breaking tech news.
