How to prevent car theft (no matter what you drive)
Like anything else, protecting your vehicle is often best done before something terrible happens. A few of our favorite precautions to safeguard any car include:
- Use a steering wheel lock, which can stop a thief from taking your vehicle.
- Invest in a GPS tracking system or use an Apple AirTag to track your car.
- Always park your car in a safe location and lock it before walking away.
- For a keyless car, consider a blocking pouch or a Faraday bag. This prevents criminals from swiping your car fob’s electronic signature and stealing the vehicle.

Late last year, Ford’s Mustang Mach-E all-electric vehicle suffered a few issues, leading to their recall. One of the flaws stemmed from the bonding adhesive not working correctly for the windshield, while the other saw the sunroof not remaining in place.
I couldn’t imagine: An 18-year-old driving a 2022 Honda Pilot got stuck on autopilot going 113 mph with his mom following him in another car. He tried everything to slow or stop the car, including putting it in neutral, braking and even pulling the emergency brake. Nothing worked. The solution? A responding police officer had the teen hit the back of his patrol car so the vehicle would stop. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

It’s not uncommon to receive a notice about a vehicle recall in the mail. Most of the time, the issues are related to something minor — like a faulty backup camera or software program causing issues.
There are times when those issues aren’t so minor, however. Remember that massive Toyota and Lexus recall that was issued a couple of months back? That recall was due to a serious safety issue with the fuel pump, causing some vehicles to stall unexpectedly while in motion.
