🎬 Want to watch a movie on YouTube? Search for the title and the word “movie,” like “Oppenheimer movie.” You’ll get the option to buy or rent if it’s not available for free.

Hate YouTube ads? There’s a cheaper fix. YouTube is rolling out Premium Lite for $7.99/month, cutting down on “most” ads. News, fashion and gaming videos will be ad-free, but if you want music without ads, you’ll still need the $13.99/month standard Premium plan. That one also includes offline downloads.

Watching podcasts on YouTube. Their monthly numbers blow Spotify and every other streaming service in the podcast game out of the water. Yup, you can watch my show there

Choose your speed: On YouTube and most other video players, press Shift + > to speed things up or Shift + < to slow them down. It usually adjusts in 0.25 increments. Heads up, the audio might get a little funky!

🚨 YouTube creators, don’t fall for this: Scammers are using an AI video of CEO Neal Mohan to trick you into giving up sensitive info. They’ll send it privately, claiming YouTube is changing its monetization policy. It’s your credentials they’re after. Reminder: YouTube will never contact you or share updates through a private video.

▶️ Need to rewind or skip ahead on YouTube? Forget fiddling with the timeline. Tap the left/right arrow keys to jump 5 seconds, or press J/L to rewind or fast-forward 10 seconds. Easy, right? Now you can skip the boring parts (or replay the good ones) in a flash.

🔁 Want to loop a YouTube video? If you’re playing a song on repeat, there’s no need to refresh the page. Right-click anywhere on the video and select Loop. It’ll keep going … at least until an ad crashes the vibe.

I love the weekend: My national radio show is airing all across the country. With over 400 stations strong, find your closest one using our super-duper station locator map. And because I aim to please, you can listen to my show as a podcast or watch it on YouTube.

Zoom-zoom: On YouTube, double-click the right side of a video to skip ahead 10 seconds. If the intro’s still playing, double-click again to skip it. Another option: Hit the right arrow to jump ahead 5 seconds.

I own a real green screen: The YouTube Shorts AI, Veo 2, whips up clips with just a few words. Like OpenAI’s Sora, type what you want and the AI does the rest. You can specify a style, lens or cinematic effect. Want to try it yourself? Open YouTube, go to Shorts camera > Green Screen > and type your prompt.

🍏 It’s Apple launch day: They’re rolling out a new iPhone SE without the old home button, revamped AirTags with a longer range and a speaker that’s harder to remove. Watch it live on Apple’s YouTube channel at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). While you’re at it, don’t forget to subscribe to mine, too.

🤑 MrBeast earned how much? A screenshot showed $4.2 million in earnings after racking up 2.6 billion views in 28 days on YouTube. That’s more than $50 million a year. What a great American success story!

That’s all the average video on YouTube gets. Over 74% have no comments and 89% have no likes. Research estimates a staggering 14.8 billion total videos on YouTube. Wow.

🔪 The short fortune teller who escaped from prison was a small medium at large: A true crime YouTube channel is racking up views, and most people listening don’t realize every “true story” is completely fake. They’re all AI-generated. The channel owner called it “True Crime” because the genre gets the most clicks. Nice ploy, buddy.

📀 Free tool: HandBrake is open-source software that converts videos from one format into nearly any other. It’s an easy way to turn DVDs and Blu-Ray discs into digital video files, like an MP4. Then, you can create a free, private YouTube channel and upload your videos to share your home movies. Sweet.

What the big print giveth, the small print taketh away: Paramount and YouTube TV couldn’t agree on a renewal contract, so you’ll lose 23 channels today. If you really need CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central or one of the others, try Tubi for a free trial. Just remember to set a reminder to cancel! If tug-of-war drags on for “an extended period of time,” YouTube will give subs an $8 credit. Gee, thanks. Speaking of, ditch the subscriptions you don’t use. I did, and I used the app that makes it easy: Rocket Money. They find everything and cancel whatever you no longer want.

Stop, thief! If you make YouTube videos, check out Meta’s Video Seal tool. It puts an invisible watermark on your videos. Even if someone edits your video, it’ll still show up so you can prove it’s yours. It’s in demo mode, and you can add a message containing up to six characters.

Not for me, thanks: Almost every social media platform has the option to say, “I don’t like this.” Next to a post, video or anything else, look for the three-dot or three-line menu that opens more options. On YouTube, for example, tap the three dots next to a video and choose Don’t recommend channel or Not interested.

What Russia wanted to fine Google. That’s 33 zeros, and it’s about 237,000 times more than all the money in the world. Why? YouTube blocked some of Russia’s state-owned TV channels. A court just stepped in and blocked it. You know, in case Google was checking the couch cushions.
